Mobile

Thank you for all the kind words and prayers!  My legs did 10x better today.  I wore my old lady compression socks, so that helped.  Luckily for the most part I feel great, its just one of those pregnancy things.  Comes with job!  And I will do it 100x over to get this little guy here.

So onto the Mobile DIY.  I don't have an exact inspiration.  I sort of just looked at other ones to get a good idea of how and what they used but its pretty much my final product.  What you will need:

  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • paint and paint brushes
  • card stock/scrap book paper
  • embroidery hoops
  • wooden letters
  • template or a cricut
  • yarn
  • glue stick
So I used my cricut to make some animal cut-outs on different patterned paper (I had to do flip side of each animal because my paper is one-sided)
And then I used the glue stick and yarn to make individual strand of the mobile.  Gluing the yarn in between each side of the animal.  Its up to you how long or short to make the yarn.

I then painted the embroidery hoops and the wooden letters.
I then used the hot glue gun to attach the yarn to the hoops and the letters to the bottom of each strand (to help weight the mobile down).  I just wrapped the yarn around till I got the desired length and then hot glued them in place.  And this is the final product!
It needs just a little touching up, but I love the way it turned out.  Very simple but will add some fun color and shapes to the room.

Before I let you go here is an update picture of the bathroom.  It has molding!  Tomorrow he is painting it and then Friday all the cabinets go in and the counter-top gets put on!!!  Yay!

  2. Will the mobile hang above his crib? If so, how are you hanging it? Molly and Jack have yet to sleep in their cribs, but I still need to make them mobiles!

    1. The plan is to hang it up above the crib with fishing wire type material and just tacking it to the ceiling. But Luke won't be upstairs in his room for awhile.
