Good Week!

So this has been and will continue to be a very good/exciting week!  We got to see Luke today! Ladies and Gentlemen we have a big baby on our hands!  He is weighing in at 4lbs and 3oz!  It looks like he has long legs and huge feet.  Also looks like he has hair!  Dr. Kinder sounds pretty sure that Luke might be here by the end of the year.  We will be 30 weeks tomorrow and Luke is measuring more like 32 weeks.  If I wasn't already a little anxious, I definitely am now!  But I can't wait to meet him.  I can't wait to see the most perfect way he is a blend of both of our families.  I can't wait to meet him and figure out his personality.

Also this week, the bathroom is finally finished!  That right we have shower walls and fixture knobs.  I will showing you the final pictures of the bathroom tomorrow.

The last greatness of the week is that I have my first baby shower this weekend.  My MIL and cousin/BFF and I will be headed to SS for my hometown shower.  I am so excited to see all the goodies that Luke gets.  Nothing better than sweet little baby things.  I can't wait to fill up Luke's room with all the odds and ends.  I will definitely share pictures of the shower decor and goodies.

I wanted to show the progress of Luke:
This is Luke at 7 weeks just a little dot.
This is Luke at 18 weeks.  He actually looks like a baby!  This is when we found out Luke is a Luke.

This is Luke today at 29 weeks and 6 days.  Look at his sweet cheeks and his huge hands!

What a Weekend!

It has been a crazy, busy, fun, and family filled weekend.  Yesterday we drove to Texarkana for my sweet baby cousin's wedding.  It was at this adorable rustic place that fit their personalities to a T.  The bride, Julia, did a fabulous job putting it all together.  It had the sweetest touches.  It was on the chilly side but other than that couldn't have asked for a prettier day.  I got to spend some much needed family time with the whole group including breakfast and shopping and the wedding before we headed back home last night.

Today the hubby was off (a rare occasion that we have a whole day off together), so we spent the morning cuddling and watching TV.  He went to do some manly stuff with his friends (poker and football) and I went with my mother in law.  A friend of hers has 19 month old twin boys and they are preparing for a garage sale, so they let us go through all the stuff first.  What a blessing they are, plus my overly generous parents-in-law.  My MIL stocked up on tons of stuff at her house, and then I was able to get Luke tons of clothes and shoes that he can grow into.

Look at those too sweet baby Toms!  So to say we are blessed is an understatement.  I am reminded daily how much God really truly loves us and how much he really truly is in control!

29 weeks!

29 weeks brings:
An emotional meltdown (it happened Sunday so that was technically 28 weeks)
Some swelling- nothing too bad but I think it's the salt in take
Reflux galore
Tons of questions prepared for the OB
Tons of research on breast feeding and natural births
A very active Luke! I don't think he is ever not moving!
We get to see him next Wednesday. I I am so curious to see how big he is and his position. We haven't seen him since 18 weeks!
I am also including a picture of the curtains up! Sort of. I am deciding if I think they need to be lower. We used pre-existing holes. And they need to be ironed if anyone would like to volunteer for that!

The Moment we Have been waiting for

Okay so one of the many moments we are waiting for.  But right now this makes me feel so much better!  After much hard work from Sour, the father in law, and a really great BFF/cousin and her husband , the nursery is so close to being done.  LOOK!

What's left to do you might ask.  Well I have to find hardware for the curtains and hang them up.  Getting some baskets/totes (hopefully from showers) and put in the changer for organization, find a small little table to put a lamp on in the corner.  Other than that just odds and ends.  It looks as lovely as I thought it would.  The big top off will be the curtains to throw in a big splash of color.

Those of you who have been thinking what about the bathroom?  Well its at a standstill.  We are simply waiting on the glass for shower.  So we have moved a couple of things in, so we don't have to run upstairs for everything but for the most part we are still spread out among the house.  Fingers crossed the glass should be in Monday and put up on Tuesday!

I have been have some anxiety and feeling overwhelmed and with these 2 projects finally getting complete, I am starting to feel a little bit better.  Now if only I could control everything else!

Crafty Saturday

Be prepared for picture overload.

I am still feeling under the weather, and I tried to get out and about to get to run some errands.  Just getting dressed made me sweat and get out of breath.  Well I did get out for a short time and then came back and did a couple of really easy DIY's, now I am back in bed.

The nursery painting is sort of done.  The grey is done but the molding still needs to be repainted, so I decided hang a few things.

I used unframed cork board and stapled fabric around them and then hung free printables on them.

I just put cute scrap booking paper in these frames until we have sweet pictures of Luke

This is the beginning of the wall above the crib.  I still have a couple of hoops to make.
I still have some shelving to hang and some wall hooks, but those take a little more exact measurement.  So the hubs will have to help with those. I also did a super quick organization DIY in the bedroom to help organize my jewelry so I could see everything easier.
Just wall hooks and wooden dowels for bracelets and necklaces.
One last thing.  I was reading up on all my 28 week stuff this morning and came across this.
It so true!  The kicks and rolls are feeling very "blunt and forceful", but I wouldn't have it any other way.

28 Weeks!

Can't believe it! I know I probably say that every week, but really?!?! I can't believe God has chosen me to be this little guy's mommy! I can't believe in a short time I will be someone's mommy! We are officially 3 months out. 12 Weeks till full term! And it will be full to the brim with joy, fun stuff, holidays, work and just life in general. Next weekend my baby cousin gets married, then my first shower the weekend after that. I can't believe it's so close! I can't wait to see all the sweet adorable baby stuff. Then we have a shower every other weekend in to December. Then comes Christmas! Then comes Luke!

So 28 weeks brings
Uncomfortability
Not as much hunger or at least I kind of feel full every now and then
The 1st trimester tiredness is coming back
Reflux
A lot of movement from Luke (which is cool and weird)
A need to sleep with 4 pillows
And Surprisingly not too emotional

Gross

I can officially say that getting a cold when you are pregnant is miserable. Along with reflux, and uncomfortability, I can add to hit a sore throat, congestion, and cough.  And barely any decent medicine to help.  But we had a OB appointment today, and little man sounds good!  So I will push through because he is more than worth it.  It hit me today (very hard) that time is dwindling away!  I start going to the doc every 2 weeks now.  We get to see Luke next appointment which is on Halloween.  We will be 30 weeks on that appointment, which means only 10 more weeks.  Aaaahhhhh!  Its really happening.

So I have realized that my fears are not really the labor and delivery part or even him being here.  I fear screwing him up.  I fear something awful happening to him in the future.  I fear I won't give him just the right balance of discipline and love.  I fear I we won't be the examples we are meant to be.

I can't control these things, so I have decided to give those over to the Lord.  Just praying for his safety and future daily knowing God has it under control.

What I can control, I am being a crazy pants about.  So the room is painted, just needs to be touched up.  And hopefully that will be finished up within the week so this weekend of nothing, I can do some decorating and organizing in the room. The room is the best gray!  It even makes the room look bigger.

The bathroom is making progress. After some set backs today and yesterday we are kind of at a stand still.  But the glass for the shower should be in and done in 7-10 days and that should be the last thing.  So there is an end in site.  The bathroom does have a toilet that we can use now!  That is a big WOOHOO!!! Here are some more pictures.

So close!

Bathroom update! We are getting so close. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. This week: tile will be done, glass people come to get started (hopefully finished), plumbers come and finish and then just odds and ends. These are the latest pictures.

27 weeks!

Can it really be? We are already at 27 weeks?!?!
Everything is lovely really. I have a few days here and there of not feeling spectacular, but no huge symptoms. Still absolutely no food aversions. Could eat anything you set in front of me and usually do. I made the mistake of stepping on a scale in Bed Bath And Beyond the other day. I just laughed so I wouldn't cry.
I have never seen that number in my life. Even in my large college days.
Appointment next week and then I think I switch to every 2 week appointments.
Luke is a mover! A crazy pants to be exact! There aren't many moments when he is not rolling and kicking. It's strange but very cool.

Here are a couple of bump pictures. The first is my shoes barely peeking out from my belly.

Life

Guess what guys!?!?!
Life has been happening like crazy around here. Job is super busy, so that makes me one tired pregnant lady. Home life has been busy. Planning a nursery, getting the bathroom in order, planning a wedding shower, trying to get stuff together for my baby showed. And that is just half of it!
So Luke is growing daily, in turn means I am growing daily! I am starting to feel the 2nd trimester bliss slip away. Getting uncomfortable and tired but boy am I excited about meeting the little boy!
Headed home to SS this weekend. I sure do miss everyone there. Throwing a sweet recipe wedding shower for my sweet cousin to be and getting to celebrate my sweet Nanny's birth.

Let me show you how the bathroom is coming along.

14 weeks To Go!

(Approximately)  That does not seem like very long at all guys!  So I missed a 25 week picture but here is 26 week belly
Yep it is getting pretty impressive!  So 26 weeks feeling like the 3rd trimester.  Starting to feel the uncomfortability, some swelling, not sleeping as well, all the joys the 3rd trimester I have heard brings.  But all and all I still feel pretty good.  No call from the Doc a couple of weeks ago means no Diabetes!  Woohoo!  Which is good because my eating is definitely not getting any better.  I still don't feel like I eat a lot just all the time.  The full button just does not exist.  Nothing more is really happening to the nursery, much to my shagrin.  I really am ready to have it painted but hopefully that will get done within the next couple of weeks.  The goal is still to have Luke's room by the end of the month.  I have shower dates which is super exciting!  I can't wait to see all the sweet baby things!  I did get the curtains in!  And we have painted a sample of grey on the wall.  Both the curtain color and paint color are perfect!  Exactly what I had in my head.
These are the curtains.  They are a great orangey red.  I couldn't get the paint on the wall to photograph well, so you will have to wait till the whole room is painted.

In other news the bathroom got painted today!  By the end of the day tomorrow, the cabinets and counter will be in as well as the lights above the mirror!  I will get you a picture of that soon.

Mobile

Thank you for all the kind words and prayers!  My legs did 10x better today.  I wore my old lady compression socks, so that helped.  Luckily for the most part I feel great, its just one of those pregnancy things.  Comes with job!  And I will do it 100x over to get this little guy here.

So onto the Mobile DIY.  I don't have an exact inspiration.  I sort of just looked at other ones to get a good idea of how and what they used but its pretty much my final product.  What you will need:

  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • paint and paint brushes
  • card stock/scrap book paper
  • embroidery hoops
  • wooden letters
  • template or a cricut
  • yarn
  • glue stick
So I used my cricut to make some animal cut-outs on different patterned paper (I had to do flip side of each animal because my paper is one-sided)
And then I used the glue stick and yarn to make individual strand of the mobile.  Gluing the yarn in between each side of the animal.  Its up to you how long or short to make the yarn.

I then painted the embroidery hoops and the wooden letters.
I then used the hot glue gun to attach the yarn to the hoops and the letters to the bottom of each strand (to help weight the mobile down).  I just wrapped the yarn around till I got the desired length and then hot glued them in place.  And this is the final product!
It needs just a little touching up, but I love the way it turned out.  Very simple but will add some fun color and shapes to the room.

Before I let you go here is an update picture of the bathroom.  It has molding!  Tomorrow he is painting it and then Friday all the cabinets go in and the counter-top gets put on!!!  Yay!

Post Poned

I was supposed to finish and post a DIY for Luke's room today. That is not happening due to this! Yes that is my leg with indentions. The thing is I got those marks over an hour ago! I have new thing in this pregnancy. My calves are huge from edema and they are quite uncomfortable. I even have some numbness in my feet. So we are propped up for the evening.

Going to try to get you the DIY tomorrow and a picture!
